Cootamundra Area

The picturesque district of Cootamundra is located half way between Sydney and Melbourne. It is an ideal base for exploring the entire Riverina region of
New South Wales. Cootamundra is a thriving centre for sport, history and the arts and boasts a strong commercial and services sector. The town is
surrounded by classic undulating agricultural land and villages rich in heritage.

Set in a prosperous valley, this picturesque town is the birthplace of Sir Donald Bradman and home to the Cootamundra Wattle. See the Captain's Walk,
stroll among the stately old buildings set amidst wide tree-lined streets, or play on the first golf course in Country New South Wales. Enjoy the friendly

Cootamundra was first settled in the 1830’s. The town was built on what was originally a stock station called 'Cootamondra' owned by pioneer, John
Hurley. Today Cootamundra remains renowned for producing quality beef, lamb, and wool and is one of the state’s highest yielding wheat and canola
regions.
