Tocumwal is a gracious historic town situated on the banks of the Murray River flanked by massive red gums. It boasts some of the largest beaches along the Murray with 25 sandy beaches close to town.
The world renowned Sportavia Soaring Centre, the largest international gliding centre in Australia is based at the Tocumwal aerodrome, recognised as the largest WWII RAAF training base in the southern hemisphere.
The riverside beaches are a popular camping spot for travellers wanting to relax with bushwalking, horse riding, fishing for Murray Cod and Yellowbelly, birdwatching, boating and swimming or simply just lazing around.
