The Indian Rim Asian University Games are a celebration of sport for the sake of friendship and is the largest ever international university sporting event held in Australia.
Open to university teams from the Indian Ocean Rim and Asian regions, the Games are an excellent opportunity for university students to experience international competition, interact in a positive fashion with a variety of cultures and, in the process, build life long friendships.
Ten sports will be contested in both mens and womens formats during the event from 7 to 11 December, 2009. The sports include football, soccer, rugby 7's, badminton, tennis, hockey, judo, ultimate, water polo, beach volleyball and cricket 20/twenty.
